Defending champions First Bank Basketball Club started their 2019 Zenith Bank Women’s League National Final Eight campaign on a winning note after beating Nigeria customs 61-37 yesterday at the sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.

Customs kept the scoreline respectable as the first half ended 31-24 in favour of First Bank. However at the resumption of the second half, the defending champions blew out their opponents to win 61-37.

In other games Delta Force defeated Plateau Rocks 56-44, while BlackGold Queens of Abuja and Dolphins of Lagos in Group B was a one sided contest as Dolphins decimated the Abuja based team, 84-35.

Dolphin’s Gbihi Cynthia scored 13 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds to hand her team a perfect start to the Final Eight campaign.
